Is the energy transition pushing our electricity grid to its limits? (SRF Einstein)

Hivoduct on Swiss television: New approaches to the energy supply of the future

The transformation of our energy system poses fundamental challenges to existing infrastructure. Growing demands from electric vehicles, heat pumps and decentralised energy production are increasingly pushing today’s electricity grid to its limits.

Swiss television (SRF)’s science programme Einstein examined precisely this development. The latest episode demonstrates why the energy transition cannot be achieved solely by expanding existing grids, but requires new, intelligent approaches.

Hivoduct features in this report and is introduced from 17:45 onwards. The report shows how our technology is opening up a new path in energy distribution, with the aim of sustainably improving efficiency, scalability and grid stability.

Our approach is based on the conviction that the energy supply of the future must not only be more efficient, but also organised in a fundamentally different way. Rather than making selective improvements to existing systems, we need solutions designed from the ground up for an electrified and decentralised energy future. The increasing complexity of the energy system requires new infrastructure that responds flexibly to peak loads, intelligently manages energy flows and, at the same time, meets the highest safety and efficiency standards.
