This ASTRA-approved temporary test installation impressively demonstrates how an existing tunnel system – of which there are many in Switzerland – can be used for low-loss energy transmission in the gigawatt range.

The test installation spans approximately 100 meters and shows how flexible phase arrangements can be adapted to the specific conditions. Thanks to our revolutionary flange system, which requires no screws, the installation can be completed in just a few days through the existing, limited access points. Our aluminum tubes do not have any fire load, unlike conventional cables, and help reduce external magnetic fields. Since we use pure technical air for electrical insulation and the outer tubes remain grounded and touchable at all times, the system can operate in tunnels with personnel access.
