Investment in value creation and portfolio expansion at Hivoduct

Hivoduct has further developed its own production facilities and successfully commissioned a new large-scale lathe. This investment expands our production capacity and supports our next development step—with tangible benefits for our customers.

The new machine can machine workpieces up to 6 meters in length and with a diameter of up to 700 mm internally. In combination with clamping devices developed in-house, Hivoduct is significantly increasing its vertical range of manufacture and reducing external machining steps. This strengthens process control and leads to consistently high quality and more reliable delivery dates. For our customers, this means greater planning reliability, fewer interface risks, and shorter response times for adjustments.

The new lathe also enables the expansion of the product portfolio to 420 kV nominal voltage, which can now be manufactured entirely in-house. At the same time, we are optimizing material flow and internal logistics. This enables more efficient processes and shorter throughput times—especially for demanding projects where adherence to deadlines and adjustments during installation are crucial.

The investment is an important building block in supporting Hivoduct's current growth phase and underlines our commitment to realizing demanding high-voltage projects with a high level of technical expertise and industrial efficiency.

The pictures show impressions of the commissioning of the new lathe and the visit by students from ETH Zurich, who gained insights into modern industrial manufacturing at Hivoduct during a factory tour.
